The Purposes of Scripture
Learning Goals
Learning Goals
Scripture is our source of wisdom for salvation and can be used to teach, to refute, to correct, and to train in holiness.
Theology is the study of God and the things of God.
To study God is more than just to learn facts about Him; it is also to enter into a relationship with Him and to explore more deeply His revelation of Himself.
In Scripture, God has revealed Himself and His plan for our salvation.
We meet the Person of Jesus Christ in His Scriptures.

JOHN 21:25
But you, remain faithful to what you have learned and believed, because you know from whom you learned it, and that from infancy you have known [the] sacred scriptures, which are capable of giving you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
